This post is a followup on my last one about my two epiphanies. This is the result of them so far…
I just posted this in the Warrior Forum as well, so I’ve copied and pasted it.

I just wanted to share a little story with you to show just how quick you can go from nothing to making good money.
Around mid February I started learning about a traffic source called contextual advertising, or more commonly known now a days as Pay Per View. (PPV.)
I was bored with what I was doing (mostly SEO and organic traffic that needed lots of work… articles, yahoo answers, etc.) and wanted to try my hand at paid advertising.
Adwords never got along with me well, and I never had too much success with PPC besides a few choice networks that I saw success on. (Adbrite being one of them. I’m not using them as much anymore though.)
Anyway, I knew the power of paid advertising, and the power of PPV after learning about it, so I simply told myself “Self, I am going to make this work. I will make $10,000 a month by Decemeber 31st, 2009, and I will spend as much as I need to to make it work.”
So that’s what I did.
Here’s a little info on PPV for those who don’t know…
You target anything you want… websites or keywords. So if you had a site on knitting you could go to the top knitting sites and bid on them, so that your landing page would come up when the target goes to that site.
Your page is seen by anyone who has the contextual networks software installed. Normally it is installed by people who want to play games or do something else, and it is all compeltely volunary.
The bidding for everything starts at just .01c, so it is very affordable.
So anyway, I applied and got into TrafficVance, which is a PPV network I had heard great things about. (After being a member of more now, I tend to agree. Trafficvance is awesome.)
Looking at my stats it looked like the very first day I did anything was Feb 4th. So that’s about a month and a half ago.
I setup a campaigns around CPA offers, made some landing pages, and LOST a bunch of money… and I was very happy.
I knew I was going to lose money. It’s just part of the game. It was all fine because I was TRACKING everything. For those who are still having trouble with that, look into Tracking202. It will solve your problems.
Anyway, I was seeing losses almost every day, with a few days MAYBE coming out by a few dollars. Those days were amazing. My testing was working.
So, here we are, about 45 or so days later, and so far today I have made over $200. (Keep in mind this is all net.) Yesterday I made $300.
I’m using almost all the money I make, if not all of it, to reinvest into more traffic.
PPV is an amazing traffic source, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to start paid advertising. You start at just .01c for an impression, which is nothing.
If you want to use the same network I did (Trafficvance, which I highly recommend. They are flexible, have the best customer base that I’ve seen and heard of, and are very fast at approving campaigns 24/7.) I suggest you get in contact with my manager Jonathan. (jonathan@trafficvance.com)
He’s a cool guy and will probably give you an easier time of getting in to the network.
So here’s a quick recap of how I went from $0 to a $300 day and around $200+ a day using just PPV.
1) Got into TrafficVance.
2) Got Tracking202 all figured out and setup. (Free, by the way. :))
*As a sidenote, I actually use Prosper202, which is the same as Tracking202 but you host it on your own server.
3) Grabbed a bunch of top converting CPA offers and sent traffic to them. (Make a landing page if necessary. Normally a review site or something of the sort.)
4) Lost money, figured out what converted, and took out bad keywords/targets
5) After finding out what was converting, it was just a matter of letting it run and moving on.
6) Rinse and repeat.
Easy! You just have to be able to take seeing your money go away while testing.
Anyway, I hope this inspires and motivates some people. Remember, before this I had practically 0 paid advertising experience, and had never even heard of PPV.
